Welcome to Leaf & Heir: Four Generations, One Daily Ritual
If you've found your way here, welcome. Pull up a chair, pour yourself a glass of tea, and let us tell you how a humble olive leaf became part of our family's story.
Our journey with olive trees began in 1996, but in many ways, it started long before that.
After traveling through regions of the world where olive trees have been cherished for centuries, we fell in love with something bigger than the trees themselves. We were drawn to a way of life. People moved a little slower. Meals lasted a little longer. Families gathered around tables instead of screens. Food wasn't something that came from a package—it came from the land.
We wanted that life for our family.
So we planted roots.
Olive trees. Grape vines. Fruit trees. Vegetable gardens. Chickens for fresh eggs. We learned to make our own olive oil, wine, and bread. We spent countless evenings gathered around the dinner table, celebrating birthdays, milestones, ordinary Tuesdays, and everything in between.
In a world that seemed to be moving faster every year, our little farm became a reminder that some things are worth slowing down for.
Along the way, we discovered one of our favorite traditions: olive leaf tea.
For centuries, families throughout olive-growing regions have enjoyed tea made from the leaves of the olive tree. It wasn't flashy. It wasn't trendy. There wasn't a celebrity endorsement or a fancy marketing campaign.
It was simply part of daily life.
And that's exactly what we loved about it.
We started brewing olive leaf tea at home and quickly made it part of our daily routine. Sometimes we'd enjoy it warm on cool mornings. Other times we'd brew large pitchers and serve it over ice during hot California afternoons.
Because it's naturally caffeine-free, we could enjoy it anytime—without the jitters, the afternoon crash, or the mysterious ingredients that seem to require a chemistry degree to pronounce.
We even started creating our own olive leaf tea refreshers and mocktails long before mocktails became fashionable.
(We'd like to say we were trendsetters. Our kids would probably say we were just thirsty.)
What made the ritual especially meaningful was knowing exactly where it came from. We grew the trees ourselves. We knew how they were cared for. We knew what was—and wasn't—going into our bodies.
The olive leaf has long been valued for its naturally occurring polyphenols and beneficial plant compounds. For generations, people have appreciated olive leaves as part of a healthy lifestyle, and we felt good making them part of ours.
Over the years, whenever family and friends visited, we'd pour them a glass.
The response was almost always the same.
"Wait... this is delicious."
Followed immediately by:
"Where can we get more?"
At first, we simply shared what we had. Then we realized something.
The tea wasn't just a beverage.
It was a ritual.
It represented everything we loved about the lifestyle we had worked so hard to create: gathering together, slowing down, making intentional choices, and appreciating simple things done well.
Like a cherished family recipe passed from one generation to the next, olive leaf tea became something we wanted to share beyond our own table.
And that's how Leaf & Heir was born.
The name reflects both the leaf itself and the inheritance we hope to pass along—not money or possessions, but traditions, connection, wellness, and an appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
Four generations of our family have enjoyed olive leaf tea. Now we're honored to share it with yours.
Whether you enjoy it hot, iced, sparkling, or mixed into your favorite refresher, our hope is simple:
That each cup gives you a reason to slow down.
To gather.
To celebrate.
To create your own rituals.
And perhaps, to inherit a small piece of a lifestyle that has brought our family joy for decades.
Welcome to Leaf & Heir.
We're glad you're here.
From our family to yours—cheers to wellness within the leaf.
